After a splendid holiday, where we drove around a lot (well Steve drove, and I slept). Visiting Rob in Cardiff and 2 days later visit Kate in Seaham (next to Sunderland, for anyone who is interested). 500 kilometers up north.
Luckily there was also time for some walking and food shopping, people might not know this but I love to shop for foreign food! After visiting Rob we went with the whole Hunt Family to the Brecon Beacons quarry where we walked all the way (photo made on "Lord Herefords Knob"?!) and we went to the Malvern quarry, I wanted to go to the heighest point. That meant quit some walking up to a steep hill, and (of course) the way back was just one stair flight down...
We visited Kate and Dave who moved into a new flat where we also met 'Jack'... Jack is little, grey, furry and a bit aggressive but very very cute! Because we were over in the north over the weekend we had a chance to see what Sunderland had to offer on a Saturday night.
One thing I noticed, besides that I can't really understand anyone there because of the accent, there are a lot of not-very-bright-people. I bumped into someone at the toilets and she asked me: "Where are you from" so my reply was to keep it easy: "Holland". She seriously replied with "Ow yea that's next to Dover yeah, down south". I thought it was pretty funny.
After only a week it was time to go home. Friends of Steve who were going to stay over in Leiden for a week were on the same flight to Amsterdam. I found out that Alex works for Apple! So after I didn't wanted to let go of his personalized MacBook he promised me some brand new software :)
